Xmas surprises

Back in the good old days, evil spirits and witches came out to play in Norway on Christmas Eve. The Norwegians got into the habit of hiding their brooms so that the witches didn’t ride off with them. On Christmas Eve they enjoy a big family dinner, open their presents and then try to find good hiding spots for their brooms. Let’s hope they don’t drink too much and forget where they put them.
Find out what else they hide here, http://www.strangecosmos.com/content/item/25266.html
Witches at Christmas are not all bad according to the Italian legend of La Befana. La Befana is an old white haired witch who takes the place of Santa. She is the one who delivers children’s presents during Epiphany festivities.
The legends goes something like this:
La Befana lived in a house the three wise men passed on their journey to visit baby Jesus. The three wise men approached La Befana’s house as she was busy working. They stopped to ask if she could provide them with food and shelter for the night and to see if she might join them on their journey. La Befana was too busy, but later changed her mind and decided she should have gone with them. La Befana gathered up some gifts and set off in search of baby Jesus. Like the three wise men, she followed the bright star shining in the sky.
However, she was not able to find the stable where the baby Jesus lay.
La Befana did not give up and is still looking in every home for baby Jesus to this day. She flies on her broom to each house that is home to a child, leaving gifts just in case one of them happens to be the Christ child.
